My Story

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been captivated by the voice: its connection to breath, wellness, and expression. My love of singing began in middle school and never stopped. I majored in vocal performance, performed professionally in musical theatre and on the concert stage, and continue to study and refine my craft.

When I realized I couldn’t play the ingénue forever, I sought a path that would complement performing and teaching. I earned a master’s degree in communication disorders and became a speech pathologist specializing in voice and upper airway disorders, and I’ve never looked back.

After more than 15 years as a voice therapist, I faced my own vocal injury: a small polyp caused by one moment of overexertion. I was terrified and ashamed. How could a voice expert damage her own voice? For months I avoided seeing a laryngologist. When I finally did, surgery was scheduled—but something in me said, Wait. You can heal this yourself. I canceled the surgery, followed my own therapeutic protocol, made key lifestyle changes, and within six weeks the polyp was gone.

That experience changed me. It taught me humility, compassion, and what it truly feels like to be a patient. Today I’m grateful for it. It deepened both my empathy and my expertise.

My fascination with breath and wellness began in childhood. I grew up in a small New Mexico town, struggling with asthma and allergies but without access to inhalers. I remember lying in bed gasping for air, wondering if I would survive the night. Those struggles subsided over time but returned years later when I moved to Austin and was diagnosed with autoimmune issues and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. My search for healing led me to extraordinary teachers, physicians, and holistic practitioners. For years, I hoped someone could “fix” me, until I realized that true healing had to start within.

Through breathwork, somatic awareness, nervous system regulation, and mindful nutrition and exercise, I freed myself from asthma symptoms and now manage my autoimmune conditions naturally. The journey has been deeply healing and has shown me the incredible power of the human body and spirit to restore balance.

My vision is simple: to help you heal—to breathe, speak, sing, and communicate with ease and freedom.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by the voice. Trained as a classical soprano, I performed in concert and musical theater before discovering a passion for teaching others to sing. My curiosity about the voice and speech mechanism led me back to school, and since 2007 I’ve worked as a speech pathologist and voice coach. It’s deeply rewarding to unite my training to help others heal, speak, breathe, sing, and communicate with greater freedom.

I draw on broad training in voice and speech techniques and hold certifications in related therapies. Because every person’s needs are unique, I listen carefully and use my experience, training, science, and intuition to choose the most effective approach.
